This workshop is designed to help participants expand their approach to glazing through a deeper understanding of glaze properties, application techniques, layering, and surface design.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eRuth will demonstrate a range of glazing techniques, including layering, underglaze application, masking with tape, and glaze inlay. Ruth will demonstrate layering techniques, including using underglazes underneath and on top of glaze.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eAfter the lunch break, Ruth will demonstrate using tape to mask off designs, followed by a demonstration of using tools to inlay glaze. She earned her MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and her BFA from Syracuse University. Her work has been exhibited across the United States, including at Market House Craft Center in Lancaster, PA, and Charlie Cummings Gallery in Gainesville, FL.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eRuth has completed artist residencies at institutions including the Harvard Ceramics Program, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, and The Clay Studio in Philadelphia.
