Biography
My ceramic work stems from an unrealized dream of being an architect. Each piece amalgamates Brutalist and Modernist architectural forms through the lens of a 19th-century porcelain craftsman, achieving a refined finish that provokes visual friction. My intention is to forge relics that never existed in a historical past, yet seamlessly inhabit current narratives. These forms emerge directly from my personal history, chronicled dreams, and enduring
curiosity.
Art-making has been my lifelong pursuit. After earning my MFA, I spent my career working as a commercial photographer and art director. This creative background ultimately guided me to ceramics four years ago. I found that clay offered a tangible way of working and a distinct formal language completely separate from my photographic past.
