We also offer Semi-Private lessons designed for intermediate to beginner potters for groups of 2-4 people.

Tao of Clay offers tailored private events where groups can enjoy hands-on pottery lessons, creating unique pieces under expert guidance. All tools and supplies are provided, and each participant’s work will be glazed and fired for pickup in about six weeks, with shipping options available if needed.

Custom Lessons
Tao of Clay offers private group lessons in both hand-building and throwing, tailored to suit your party’s needs. All of our private classes are beginner-friendly. Our Hand-Building class offers a variety of project options with the opportunity to walk away with a finished product. While throwing is a fun and engaging activity to try, it’s not something that can be fully learned or result in a finished project within a 2-hour session—it’s just for the fun experience of giving it a go! Our staff will help you choose the perfect project for your group, ensuring a memorable and creative experience.

Tools, Firing, and Shipping
The cost of our private classes includes one completed piece per person. All tools and supplies are provided, along with hands-on instruction. After the event, we’ll glaze and fire your creations using our custom-developed in-house glazes. Your finished wares will be ready for pickup at our studio in approximately six weeks, and we can arrange shipping if needed.

What types of classes do you offer for a private event?
We offer tailored private lessons focusing on a variety of hand-building techniques suited for beginners, as well as throwing classes for private events. Our staff will assist in determining the best options for your group, and you’ll find a range of choices in the private event interest form.
What is included in the cost of a private event?
The cost includes all tools and supplies needed, hands-on instruction, and the opportunity for each participant to create one unique piece of pottery. Pottery will be finished, glazed and fired by Tao of Clay Staff.
How long does it take to recieve the finished pieces?
Your finished wares will be ready for pickup at our studio in approximately six weeks. We can also arrange shipping if needed.
Can we bring food and drinks to our private event?
Yes! We welcome non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. However, food and drinks must be consumed within your designated 120-minute session.
How do I book a private event?
If interested, please fill out the inquiry form below, including details about your prospective event, such as activity selection and desired booking date.
What happens after I submit the inquiry form?
We will respond to your inquiry within 48 hours to discuss booking availability, solidify a date and time, and send an invoice payable directly online.
What is the payment policy for booking a private event?
To secure your date and time,payment in full is required upon scheduling. We recommend booking at least one month in advance, but a minimum of one week is required. If your session is scheduled for less than a week away, payment is due immediately to confirm your spot. Without payment, we are unable to hold your desired time slot.
