I am an interdisciplinary visual artist working in various craft materials and traditions, including clay, fiber, and printmaking. I am drawn to clay's memory and the endless capacity of ceramic vessels to hold, protect and transform the contents of our lives. When making handbuilt functional and sculptural forms, I embed clay scraps and broken pieces of past work into the surfaces. Memories, experiences and teachings of past making are physically present and help to support the new vessels take form.
